The EMD F7 is a 1,500 horsepower diesel locomotive built by General Motors' Electro-Motive Division between 1949 and 1953. The F7 was EMD's fourth model in the line of F-unit locomotives, and was by far the best-selling cab unit of all time. The F7 primarily differed from the F3 in internal equipment, but there were some noticeable external changes such as the grills and the dynamic brake hatches. F7's operated in both passenger and freight service, and many of them remained in service for decades.

In this production, we are modeling A and B-units from nine railroads with prototypically accurate road numbers and paint schemes. We are offering A-B sets with Powered A-units (w/ Paragon4 Sound) and unpowered B-units, and also separate single A and B-units (where appropriate) with our full Paragon4 DC/DCC/Sound system. All of our models have road-specific details and lighting.
